SILVER

Silver is a naturally occurring element, with the number 47 and the abbreviation Ag on the periodic table. Its function in the body is to destroy bacteria, Silver has an ability to destroy antibiotic-resistant super-pathogens, enabling a healthy immune system.

Silver (Ag) has a bright metallic luster, it can be white when it is purely untarnished. It is ductile (capable of being drawn into wire), malleable (capable of being hammered and molded) and an excellent conductor of electricity, even more so than Copper. When you hear the term “Sterling Silver” it is an alloy that contains at least 92.5% pure Silver.

Silver can be found combined with a number of different elements such as Sulfur, Arsenic, Antimony or Chlorine to form a variety of minerals and ores, such as Argentite, Chlorargyrite, and Galena. It is also found in very small amounts in Gold, Lead, Zinc and Copper Ores. It is rarely found in its native form.

Commercially it is used in silverware, photographic processes, electrical circuitry and jewellery making. Ancient mirrors have been found to be constructed with Silver, leading us to discover that Silver is the best metallic reflector of light. Creative purposes see Silver formed into jewellery, ornaments, paint and decorative features. It has even been used by dentists in amalgam fillings
